Why do we celebrate Women's Day on March 8?

The International Women's Day date was moved to March 8 in 1913. ... The day aimed to help nations worldwide eliminate discrimination against women. It also focused on helping women gain full and equal participation in global development. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

International Men's Day is also celebrated on November 19 each year.   👨💗

What is the history of women's day?
After women gained suffrage in Soviet Russia in 1917, March 8 became a national holiday there. The day was then predominantly celebrated by the socialist movement and communist countries until it was adopted by the feminist movement in about 1967. The United Nations began celebrating the day in 1975.

What is the theme for International Women's Day 2020?

The theme for International Women's Day (8 March) 2020 is, I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women's Rights. The theme is aligned with UN Women's new multi-generational campaign, Generation Equality, which marks the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
