MY REVIEW ON EVERY COFFEE DRINK I'VE SAMPLED AND TASTED FOR THE PAST 1 MONTH FROM VARIOUS TYPES & STYLES OF COFFEE BY MISTER COFFEE.

Hello there coffee lovers 💙☕

Good day my dearest followers ~ How are you all been doing? Since the recent CMCO and I had to stay in to work from home. I took the opportunity to try a new coffee brand I've heard so much about on social media. Mister Coffee - A Complete Coffee Company was established in 1982 when they began sourcing for the best coffee beans the world has to offer. Well-known as a “coffee solution” to other businesses with many considering us to be “The Brand Behind many Brand".

Mister Coffee strongly believed that the key to producing the best cup of coffee lay greatly in Coffee Roasting and Sourcing of Green Beans and import only the best quality coffee beans, selected through a stringent process. They then create the Roast Profile which exacts the full potential of the coffee beans. Thus, this is what intrigued me the most to try and experience myself on what Mister Coffee can offer a coffee enthusiast like me.

You can read more on Mister Coffee History HERE 🠞Mister Coffee Story

Before I proceed on my review. Let me take you on the History of Coffee , Types of Coffee Beans and What set them apart.

History of Coffee

What is Coffee ? Coffee is a brewed drink prepared from roasted coffee beans, the seeds of berries from certain Coffee species. When coffee berries turn from green to bright red in color – indicating ripeness – they are picked, processed, and dried. Dried coffee seeds (referred to as "beans") are roasted to varying degrees, depending on the desired flavor. Roasted beans are ground and then brewed with near-boiling water to produce the beverage known as coffee.

Coffee is darkly colored, bitter, slightly acidic and has a stimulating effect in humans, primarily due to its caffeine content. It is one of the most popular drinks in the world, and can be prepared and presented in a variety of ways (e.g., Espresso, French Press, Caffe Latte, or already-brewed Canned Coffee). It is usually served hot, although chilled or iced coffee is common. Sugar, sugar substitutes, milk or cream are often used to lessen the bitter taste.

The earliest credible evidence of coffee-drinking as the modern beverage appears in modern-day Yemen in southern Arabia in the middle of the 15th century in Sufi shrines where coffee seeds were first roasted and brewed in a manner similar to how it is now prepared for drinking

The two most commonly grown coffee bean types are Arabica Coffee and Robusta Coffee . Coffee plants are now cultivated in over 70 countries, primarily in the equatorial regions of the Americas, Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent, and Africa.

Types of Coffee Beans and What Sets Them Apart

There are 4 primary types of coffee beans - Arabica, Robusta , Liberica and Excelsa . Let’s discover what differences define these various types of coffee okay ?

ARABICA
Arabica is the most common (and certainly most heavily marketed) type of coffee in North America. That’s because it actually has a sweeter, more delicate flavor and the coffee itself tends to be less acidic. The Coffee arabica taste a bit of the softer, sweeter taste.

ROBUSTA
Robusta coffee beans are second on the list and the most popular in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Its name does this bean justice, as it is known for its strong and often harsh flavor profile. Robusta coffees have extremely high levels of caffeine. Because of its reputation for tasting burnt or rubbery, Robusta is not generally a very popular coffee commodity, except where very strong coffee is a cultural norm. The very best Robusta coffee beans will have hints of chocolate and rum within their flavor profile.

LIBERICA
Liberica coffee beans are a rare treat. Liberica beans are considered a pleasant surprise. Many who’ve tried the coffee liken the aroma to fruit and flowers and describe the flavor as having a somewhat “woody” taste.

EXCELSA
Excelsa is technically a member of the Liberica family, but its species is actually incredibly distinct. Like the Liberica coffee described above, Excelsa is grown primarily in Southeast Asia and represents only a small fraction of the world’s coffee production. Excelsa does boast a tart, fruitier flavor and is known for showing attributes of both light and dark roast coffees to create a unique profile that is frequently sought out by coffee enthusiasts.

Now you know a little bit about Coffee. Let's read on about my personal review that I have tried for the past month on Mister Coffee's products

DRIP BREW
I've tried 2 types of Coffee with Drip Bag - Ethiopia and Colombia Coffee. It's 100% coffee. The Drip Bag made with Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) System by using state-of-the-art machinery from Japan which preserve the aromatic smell and taste of the ground coffee for a long period of time. There's 8 sachet in the box and single packed to maintain its freshness.
www.zazaazman8.com
What I like about this method of instant bag is ,it's kinda the same method as a Pour-Over. But instead of the hassle of getting yourself a Pour Over Pot. This Drip bag is truly convenient for someone who's on-the-go or just plain lazy to clean up. Like me 😝

What you have to do is take your coffee cup, clip the bag over the edge of your cup and you manually pour hot water over the beans and wait about 20 second per sessions for 2-3 times. Depend on your coffee preference. Place the bag inside the empty foil and you are DONE !

In between the 2 types of Coffee. I prefered the Ethiopia Coffee on this method. The smell and taste of Ethiopia Coffee consist of a fruity with floral note, high on acidity though. I wouldn't recommend to drink this on an empty stomach. And sure enough, this brewing method brings out a fine, pure, aromatic and clean cup of coffee.

It is that simple to enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee! No mess, No hassle !

GROUND COFFEE BEANS

Well, I tried for 2 types of coffee bean series which is one from the "Country Series" -SUMATRA Coffee Bean with medium grind and one from the "Espresso Series" - Espresso Super Bar with medium grind too ~ You can choose your own grind options.

Sad story cut short. I've ordered a brand new coffee maker, excitedly wanted to try these ground coffee. Mind you, my old coffee maker broke down the day I received my coffee 😌 It got delayed for 1 and half weeks and then the next week, it got cancelled. Yes, I did get my refund but it sadden me a little bit. Hence, I had to use my French Press. Which is not quite suitable for medium grind coffee 😣 but still, the coffee enthusiast in me will never be let down by small petty problem to enjoy my cuppa !

Now let's continue with my review.
www.zazaazman8.com

What I can say about Super Bar is that it has a very distinguish strong espresso flavour with a full body taste. Its acidity and bitterness are very well balanced but somewhat restrained for ones palate.  It has a strong, spicy aroma notes and discreet sweetness at the end of your taste bud. Imagine a syrupy coffee with a toffee sweetness and green apple acidity.

Recommended to drink as only Espresso or Iced Americano or even with milks drinks like Cortado, Cappuccino or Latte. Since I'm using French Press, Iced Latte or Iced Americano would do.

As for Sumatra Coffee Bean, being known for their notes, Sumatran coffees are typically characterized by their full bodies and low acidity. What I love is the smell of the coffee when it was freshly brewed, it really reminds me of Indonesia. How I missed the time I've travelled and enjoy my time at every cafe or side walk stalls selling this very aromatic earthy coffee.

For those who doesn't know this, Sumatra Coffee aromas and flavors tend to be a bit  funky, earthy, spicy, wild, mossy, mushroomy with a mild syrupy taste on the end note. Depends on those who like flavorful, spice-based coffees with complex earthy undertones that include herbs, there's fewer options better than Sumatra

**Best drink as Espresso or Kopi Jahe

**Kopi Jahe [KOH-pee JAY-hee] in Indonesian, this slightly sweet iced coffee recipe gets an intense jolt from fresh ginger and cardamom. Serve it on ice with a splash of coconut milk for pure joy. Oh how I miss Bali and Jakarta ~ haha 😙

BAG BREW

I chose the original flavour. 100% coffee no added sugar. You can choose the one with sugar added if you prefer some sweetness in you coffee. Bag Brew is an excellent solution to brew single serve coffee for coffee drinkers who are looking for convenience without compromising on quality.

The innovative coffee bag that allows water to infuse more effectively, hence resulting in getting a cleaner and more flavourful cup of single-serve coffee. This one really tasted ' kaw'. Just like they say, it got 'Ooommpphh' You can enjoy this with a bigger cup (200ml) .

I also did get the other type of Bag Brew- Dark Roast Series in single sachet to try out the taste.

From these 3 types of dark roasted coffee. I prefered the Colombia Coffee. I love a bit acidity in my coffee. Colombia Coffee brings together a mellow acidity and a strong caramel sweetness, perhaps with a nutty undertone. Sweet and medium-bodied.

For those who acidity intolerance, you can try the Liberica. Liberica coffee is definitely one of the sweetest coffee on earth. Absolutely flavourful, thick jammy juiciness and super duper intense sweetness, way sweeter than most arabica & robusta.

EASY BREW

Easy Brew has only one option and uses only 100% Premium Arabica Coffee. It offers convenient coffee brewing without messy aftermath and complicated steps. Just add hot water and brew! And what set Bag Brew and Easy Brew apart is that Easy Brew has a string for you to dunk your coffee bag. 😜

*Not really my prefered choice though. I didn't like the taste of the coffee on the end note. I bothers my palate. But you can try for yourself. Maybe you'll like it.

KOPI 'O'

Okay I got myself 2 types of Kopi 'O' - Special Blend and 118 Blend. I was intrigued to try this coffee mixture. When I say coffee mixture means that this is not 100% roasted ground coffee as others. This blend style ingredients are made with 80% coffee bean and 20% of sugar , margarine and salt.

Coffee Bag is coffee powder (ground coffee) packed in food grade filter paper. So you do not need to filter your coffee manually. Just pour hot water to brew 3-5 minutes.

*You may add sugar or/and milk to serve (according to your preference).
www.zazaazman8.com

This one definitely not my preference but I would drink if there is no other coffee around. If I had to choose, I would probably drink the 118 blend. It has more punch and kinda dig the smoky taste.

There you go guys!! My personal review on all the coffee types and styles I got from Mister Coffee.

What I like about Mister Coffee's coffee bags is that the filter are really strong but yet releases the cefficientlyiently , by using food grade coffee filter so that you wouldn't have to deal with any coffee residues at the end of your cuppa.
