#SELERA KAMPUNG
SPICES @ FURAMA BUKIT BINTANG  BUFFET

Furama Hotel marries tradition with contemporary trends by having traditional game tournaments
and unique bubble tea flavors its patrons.

Hey guys,

I was given the chance from Furama Hotel Bukit Bintang to taste their delicious scrumptious menu preparing for this year's Ramadan month.

So here I'll give you my honest personal review on the menu , atmosphere and services provided for you guys okay?  😆

Ramadan is just around the corner. As Muslims contemplate each long day’s fast, and reflect on the spiritual nourishment the month of Ramadan brings them, thoughts will invariably turn to another type of sustenance. This is the place where we can gather and be together enjoying great food with a nice atmosphere.

SPICES is on the 3rd floor . The dining area is quite spacious and well placed. The BBQ section is outside near the pool. So anyone who wants enjoy beautiful pool scenery can definitely book a table outside.

Spacious dining area.

There's also table sitting outside for diners to enjoy the pool scenery.

Ushering in the holy month of Ramadan this year, the culinary team at Furama Bukit Bintang has skillfully put together a sumptuous buffet spread of authentic local Malaysian cuisines at SPICES @ Furama Bukit Bintang

Themed ‘Selera Kampung’, the team has decided to give the buffet a contemporary twist by including the current all-time favourite bubble tea, or also fondly known as ‘Boba’. Flavours include Boba Syrup Bandung, Kurma Milk Boba, Teh Tarik Boba, Cendol Boba, and the all-time favourite Milk , Gula Melaka Boba and Chocolate Boba.

To make breaking fast with friends and family even more momentous, Furama Bukit Bintang is also hosting a traditional games tournament where participants stand a chance to win a 3 days 2 night stay. Further to this, there will also be a ‘Pelita lighting ceremony to kick off each evening.

ALL ABOUT THE FOOD

The buffet spread will highlighting authentic Malay dishes from the basic appetisers of ‘Ulam’, Sambal’ and ‘Kerabu’ to main courses of ‘Nasi Hujan Panas’, ‘Kambing Tumis Hitam Ala Mamak’, Udang Sambal Berpetai’ and many more.

There's varieties of sambals like the typical ' Sambal Belacan' , ' Budu Cili ' , ' Sambal Mangga' and ' Sambal Tempoyak' . The ' Sambal Mangga' was really delicious as the mango was tangy and sweet paired with the spiciness of the sambal. It was just PERFECT  !! 💓👌

The 'Sambals'

The ' Kerabu' and Local salad

Salads with variety of dressings

The ' COLD' salad.

There was array of ' Kerabu' choices. ' Egg Chili Kerabu', ' Squid Kerabu' , ' Cow Stomach Kerabu' and ' Pucuk Paku Kerabu'. I really enjoyed the 'Cow Stomach Kerabu' and 'Pucuk Paku Kerabu'. The taste was exquisite and mouth-watering💗. I'm salivating now just thinking about the taste again. 😩😜

There's the 'Cold Salad' section too. I like the 'Potato Salad' , ' Prawn Salad' and ' Mango Salad' . It's refreshing and flavorful . Totally recommended for light eater. 👍😀

Another must-have during fast-breaking is the 'Bubur Lambuk', together with ‘Lemang’, ‘Beef Rendang and Chicken Rendang ’, and ‘Sup Berempah Ayam and Sup Ekor’ .

Just to give you a hint of Hari Raya celebration foods.. 😉

BBQ SECTION

Straight off the grill, or in the Malay language “Langsung Dari Pemanggang”, is the Furama
Signature Grill Lamb or ‘Kambing Bakar Istimewa’. Grilled food lovers can also look forward to grilled beef, chicken, fish, mussels and not forgetting the local favourite – Satay.

The Grilled Lamb was juicy and tender. Cooked to perfection by our chefs just outside the pool area. I ate it with mint sauce and black pepper sauce . Deliciously decadent !!!

I had the mussels, prawns and squids too. 💗

There are some that are already marinated and fresh. The marinated ones are quite good as it eliminates the gamy and fishy smell of the seafood. A must-try! 👌

The BBQ section is right outside next to the pool area.

DESSERT SECTION

Keeping to the authentic Malay cuisine theme, there will also be a wide selection of local desserts such as Kuih Bakar Kemboja, Kuih Talam Pandan, Kuih Kasui, Kuih Bingka Ubi, Kuih Bengkang, Kuih Talam Sagu, Pulut Panggang, Badak Berendam, Lompat Tikam, ice kacang, and Pengat Durian.

They also served various kinds of Western desserts such as Puddings, Jellies, Cupcakes, Cheese Tarts, Cakes, Brownies, Cream Puffs, and even a Chocolates Fountain with various selections for you to devour and indulge.
