He and his cheeky face ๐Ÿ˜‹

Hey
 my dear readers ๐Ÿ’“

Here we are again ! Thanks for following my son's school progression for the fourth month! How are you all been doing? Since A'isy has not been in school about a month or so. Finally after 2 weeks of Restriction Movement Order ( RMO ) . The school started the online classes everyday from Monday to Friday, starting at 10:30am until 12:30pm.

For the first day, A'isy was so excited to see his friends and teacher's online. He couldn't and wouldn't sit still at all. He wasn't focus at all. He was still mingling and playing with his toys. Running in and out of the room to watch TV or just to play around with his sister.๐Ÿ˜’ Mama has sit in the room monitoring his every move with a cane now , EVERYDAY. ๐Ÿ˜

So after these 2 weeks of class, with either parent on the room monitoring him. He became more discipline and focused on the class. He is learning quite well despite not being in class with his teacher. Teacher will call him out if he doesn't behave well and he does listen to the teachers. ๐Ÿ˜™

Here's some tips I've learned these few weeks about A'isy developments which is the normal behavior for 4 year old pre-schooler. ๐Ÿ˜˜

Reading Development

๐Ÿ‘‰Can recognize his name and some familiar words on signs (such as “stop, green for GO ”)
๐Ÿ‘‰Can identify whether or not two words rhyme, or whether they start with the same sound
๐Ÿ‘‰Understands the idea of what a word is in print — and that words and sentences are read from left to right.
๐Ÿ‘‰Has memorized some favorite books and can recite them along
๐Ÿ‘‰Knows some upper- and lowercase letters, and understands that letters stand for sounds (“A makes the Ah sound, B makes the Buh sound and so on ”)
๐Ÿ‘‰Holds a book correctly and turns pages front to back

Language Development

๐Ÿ‘‰His sentences are getting longer (four to five words) and may have more variety (for instance: “Can I make the pancake with you , please Mama?”)
๐Ÿ‘‰Can listen to details and retell a story back. Not precisely but getting there ๐Ÿ˜‰
๐Ÿ‘‰On average, a 4-year-old knows about 1,500 words! If your child’s vocabulary is increasing — and shows an interest in learning and using new words. They are on track ! And so does A'isy ! ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Physical Development

๐Ÿ‘‰Can walk heel-to-toe and run. A'isy can run really fast! ๐Ÿ˜ต
๐Ÿ‘‰Able to climb jungle gyms at the playground (but needs close supervision!) but since we're stuck at home. The sofa and the chairs are his jungle gym ๐Ÿ˜Œ
๐Ÿ‘‰Can kick a ball and throw a ball in straight line
๐Ÿ‘‰Can stand on one foot for four or five seconds
๐Ÿ‘‰Can draw simple shapes, use scissors and hold the pencil correctly.
๐Ÿ‘‰Can dress, undress, and brush teeth without supervision.

Emotional Development

๐Ÿ‘‰Still has difficulty sharing but is beginning to understand taking turns. I need to remind him everyday and he is slowly understanding the meaning of sharing and taking turns. ๐Ÿ‘
๐Ÿ‘‰Wants to please friends and family. He loves to give attention when he plays.
๐Ÿ‘‰May be quick to get angry but tries to control it or express it through words and also sometimes throws up tantrums like stomping his feet or throwing things to get attentions but I finally talked him down on controlling his tantrums. ๐Ÿ˜Š
๐Ÿ‘‰Knows what tasks are expected but may lose focus on following through. YES. He need constant reminding . ๐Ÿ˜ž

So how do you discipline a 4 year old child?

Here are Four steps towards discipline and better child behavior. ⤋⤋⤋⤋⤋⤋

Don't view discipline as punishment.
Discipline may feel as though you're punishing your kids but really its to make sure that your kids knows the good and the bad, difference in the decision they make.

Decide on family rules.
A good place to start is with 4-5 family rules.Like keep your toys after playing, no gadget while eating with family and so.

Be a role model for the behavior you expect.
Children learn by watching what you do. We need to be more careful with our action and words.

Praise your child for good behavior.
Do find opportunities for praise. It's important to pay attention to what your child is doing and praise for being good. You may give them treats or reward for good behavior too ~

Set clear limits and consequences.
Make it clear that the bad decision they make will have consequences and punishments. Make them understand that not everything can go with their way.

Do be a parent, not a buddy.
Although we want to be their best friend and all, but do set boundaries. They need to know how to respect you and acknowledge you as parent. Keep the boundaries between being friends and parent

I pray and hope that we all as parent are doing fine too ! Mentally and physically. I know it is hard to contain our kids especially those who has more than 2 kids. I cant ever think of how to handle them at once. My hats OFF to you !! Let us stay strong together and unite to fight this covid19 pandemic and hope it will end soon !

Well thats all for now ! Thanks a bunch for reading my blog  on my son's progression !! I hope you enjoy as much as I do ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜˜
